Phants

We went to Hogle Zoo on Saturday. We've been wanting to go all summer but were waiting for a good time and weather that wasn't blazing hot. We got our wish. Since we couldn't go camping up at Bear Lake (it was snowing) like we had originally planned, we decided to take advantage of the free saturday and go. We had a lot of fun looking at the animals, eating cotton candy, and watching the really cool bird show. The really cute baby giraffe. He looked so small when we were further away and his mom was right by him. When we got closer however, we saw that he was actually about as tall as David is. Wow! Glad I don't have to give birth to that!

Both my handsome guys. What a lucky gal I am.
It may look like Hyrum is having fun here. He's not. Both kids were terrified of the carousel. Clare wouldn't ride on any of the animals period. The only reason Hyrum is on one is because he was too scared to put up a fight. :)

One of Clare's favorite animals was the elephant or "phants" as she called him. There was also a brand new baby elephant but they don't let him out for public view yet.
