Till Next Time

This will be my last post for a while. We are disconnecting our internet service. It's just one of those extravegances that we just can't afford during these economic hardships. I will miss blogging and staying in touch but maybe I will be able to catch up later. Love you all!

We're going Less-Active (but it's for a good cause)

I don't think David and I have been to our church services together for at least a month. We can't seem to keep everyone healthy long enough to go as a family. Three weeks ago I had strep and everyone stayed home. (Mom is the one that keeps everything moving. When Mom's down, the whole machine comes to a grinding halt.) Two weeks ago David had strep and he stayed home with Hyrum (he was sleeping) Yesterday poor baby Hyrum, who already had a cold, woke up with diarrhea which quickly turned into vommiting. So, I stayed home with him while David and Clare went to church. When they got back, Clare started throwing up. So from then on the kids took turns puking on us. Unfortunately David has a week stomach and I am the one that got stuck cleaning up all of the messes. Tell you what though. By the end of the day my stomach had had it and I was gagging every time the poor kids did just because I knew what I was going to have to do.
Needless to say, our kids had innumerable baths yesterday, and our house still smells like vommit. Today, however we are doing pretty good! Every one is keeping their food down! Keep your fingers crossed! I am not going to post pictures of our adventurous weekend because.....well you know why.....yuck! Have a good week everyone.

I'll get this figured out someday.

I was just sitting here thinking that I need to make another post on the blog but not knowing what to post. So I decided to put pictures of my holiday decorating on there. I love the holidays. I didn't get to decorate as much this year just because the kids undecorate everything just as I get it put up. But that's okay. I love hearing about people's holiday traditions too. I would love it if you all shared your traditions. Some of ours are: Spending Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Palmer's house. Reading the Christmas story from Luke 2 and 3 Nephi on Christmas Eve. Opening our stockings first on christmas morning and taking turns opening gifts. We also have a steak and crab dinner on Christmas evening (when we can afford it) after we have put the kids to bed. We will include them when they are old enough to appreciate it. We are still developing traditions in our family and would love to adopt some more. Please share some of your favorites!

Gotta go Gotta go Gotta git up an Go

I'm not sure why I added this picture except that I just liked it. It looks like Christmas.
I love Chirstmas! I'm not nearly as creative as Denise. I bought my stockings last year on an after-christmas clearance rack.

Our little tree this year. You'll notice the bottom half is undecorated. Thankyou Hyrum and Clare. I made the star and gingerbread man ornaments with that cinnamon ornament recipe. They turned out really cute.

I have quite a few Nativities but this is my favorite. It's Jim Shore's Heartwood Creek Mini Nativity. I love the colors and different scenes from the nativity story are painted on the robes of the characters. I love it!

Clare loving the tree. She loved the glass balls so much she started biting off the tops. MMMM..crunchy.
