Bonding Time

This weekend felt incredibly short. We were all so busy that it went by fast. Friday night we decided that we needed to get the kids out of the house so we went to McDonalds so Clare could play on the indoor playplace. It was so cold last week that we didn't get outside much. She had a blast running though tunnels and going down slides, till she got to the very top and was to scared to go down the big twirly slides. Daddy had to squeeze himself through all of the little kid tunnels to get her. It was pretty funny.

Saturday morning was our co-ed regional volleyball tournament. It started at 8:30 so we got a babysitter to watch the kids thinking that it would only be a couple of hours. Well, we won our first game. Lost the second, and then won the third. We got second place in regional play which means we move on to area play in Brigham City. We were there until 2:00 in the afternoon! Midway through the tournament we realized that we weren't going to get home too soon and the babysitters meter was ticking away. We were going to have to pay her about $40! So we had to run home, get the kids and run the babysitter back to her house. Then the rest of our team took turns watching our kids while we subbed in during our games.

David pinched his sciatic nerve again while he was playing which has left him really tender for the last couple of days. Poor guy, he has spent a good portion of his time in the hot tub. We have enjoyed having it.

Saturday night we were invited to eat a dutch oven dinner at our neighbor's house. We had so much fun talking and laughing and playing "Linkity" It was good to get out of our house and bond a little bit with our neighbors. We have really missed our neighbors from Smithfield, we were all such a close nit community and such good friends.

Sunday was the usual craziness before church and during sacrament meeting. I was about ready to give up and go home mid-way through but then something amazing happened. Both of the kids fell asleep! Miracles never cease. And that's not all. We got them home after church (still sleeping) and in their beds and they slept for another 2 hours! David and I both got a Sunday nap! that hasn't happened for a looooooong time. So here we are, monday morning rested and ready to go. Hopefully the rest of the week will go well for all of us.

So THAT's where my Sunday nap went, I almost ALWAYS get a nap on Sunday, and for some reason I didn't this week - the kids were noisy, baby didn't sleep, etc. etc. Oh, well, I'll gladly give it up, but only for you!

Bryson and I have been frequenting the McDonald's playplace a lot lately too! It's the perfect place to take children with cabin fever due to the cold weather.

That's so fun that you guys play on a co-ed volleyball team. Mike and I did that the first three years of our marriage and LOVED it! I wish we still did it. Maybe next year.

Oh the bliss of a Sunday afternoon nap! I guess there are a few upsides to having only one offspring. She'll nap with me!
The Playland is a super fun place to play when the weather turns. The McD's on our neck of the woods is OUTSIDE! Who's the brainiac who thunk that up? duh. We used to take Jess there (in SLC).Afterwards, in a moment of Howie Mandel panic,I would bathe her in hand sanitizer..not really, but close!
Dave is a tender guy... (heheheheh)
I love your cute babies!
