Unfortunate Event

Our poor puppy Mack was hit by a car last Tuesday evening. Luckily he ended up with no broken bones or internal injuries but he did have to get some stitches in his back legs. He is absolutely miserable. I will not add insult to injury by posting a picture of our unfortunate pooch with his shaved back end and a cone on his head. Hopefully he will get feeling better soon.

Wordful Wednesday

I missed posting on the last wordful wednesday. The theme was poems and we were supposed to write a poem. I started, got writer's block, and quit. I am NOT a poet. This WW theme is "Mothers".

Of course my own mother is the biggest influence on my life and probably always will be. As I am raising my two children I often think two, three, even 12 times a day: "How did my Mom do it with SEVEN?"
It takes a special person to be able to raise so many children and not completely loose their mind. My Mom really is a special person. Here are some things I learned from my Mom:
1. If you are going to do something, do it well.
2. I am the only person holding me back from doing great things.
3. Be completely honest in everything you do.
4 Hard work is fulfilling.
5. Never stop learning.
6. Good Music is healing for the soul, and joy in your heart.
7. "Be of Good Cheer"
8. A really good, hard laugh is necessary from time to time.
9. The world around us is a beautiful place.
10. Pray always.

My list could go on and on but I'll spare you all a few hours by just listing ten. My mom is an amazing woman with countless talents and abilities. She is truly a sacred vessel and shall be called blessed by future generations. Love you Mom.

Warm Fuzzies

A boy in our ward did a kid's petting zoo for his eagle project. We had to bring a donation of some food for the food bank to get in and it was so worth it and more! They had so many different farm animals. There were baby pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, puppies, a kitty, a calf, and a miniature horse. Clare was in HEAVEN! She squealed and shrieked happily the whole time as she ran from one shell shocked animal to the other. She cried and cried when we had to leave but had a WONDERFUL time. Every animal was squeezed and loved and cuddled and kissed enough by our sweet little girl to last a lifetime. Hyrum wasn't too sure about the baby goats. They liked to chew on his pants and had absolutely no sense of personal space. :)

Baby goats are adorable, big goats are hideous. Clare likes baby goats.

Clare's favorites were probably the baby chicks. They got inumerable kisses and cuddles and probably went to bed exhausted and having nightmares of giant lips comming toward them.

The Happiest Weed

I love flowers. I love flowers that smell and flowers that don't smell. I love them pink and white and purple and red and orange, I love them any color. I love yellow! I know that dandelions are weeds, but they must be the happiest weed because they have the prettiest yellow flower. Clare and I picked a lovely bouquet of dandelions and grape hyacinths (they also grow like weeds in the alley behind our house) It was so pretty!

Friendly Mischief

We had some friends come and stay with us for a couple of days last week. Jared and Tosha lived in Cornish and sold their house and have a lay-over between having to be out of their home and being able to move into their new home. They have three adorable children: Aamon (4 yrs), Aaron(2 yrs), and Milly (3 months). Aaron and Clare had so much fun together. I got to babysit the boys one day while mom and dad were working on house stuff so to keep the younger ones busy I set up a big piece of cardboard on the table and gave them some markers to color on it. They did really good not getting any marker on the table, however, they did have some problems keeping it off their bodies! Their hands, arms, and faces were covered in bright, vibrant colors. They were so funny and proud of themselves. Clare and Aaron proudly displaying their masterpieces.

We had lots of fun with our friends and hope that they can move into their big cozy home soon.
