David did a great job scraping up enough firewood for us to keep snuggly warm the whole time. This was really impressive because there isn't a whole lot out there and we weren't going to buy any from the camp host. (The charge $6 a bundle for firewood!)

Of Bugs and Slugs and Slimy Things
We had planned to go camping at a campground near Bear Lake this weekend but it got cancelled at the last minute because the weather turned bad. It got down into the 30's up in the mountains and even snowed one day. We were so bummed. Well, we decided Sunday afternoon to go camping in Mantua with David's sister Becky and her family. We packed up our stuffed and headed up. We had a lot of fun in the mountains eating, playing in the creek, and talking around the camp fire. It was a little more difficult at bed-time. Hyrum WOULD NOT sleep in the tent. So at 11:00pm we finally packed up his crib and he and I headed down the canyon to sleep in the comfort of Becky's house. aaahhh. We probably won't do another over-night camping trip for a while. David tossing Hyrum up in the air. I'm biting my fingernails and trying not to look. Hyrum is having the time of his life. Hmmmm he's scared stiff of a carousel ride but loves being tossed 20 feet into the air. I don't understand.

Oooh, fun camping trip. The trick to camping with toddlers.... have 6 older kids around that take turns playing with them, entertaining them and sleeping with them while you cuddle up in front of the fire with a good book. I know someone with 6 older kids you could borrow....
